At 4:28 p.m., Jan 4, a vehicle traveling northbound on Rt. 205, south of Indian Lane was, stopped by TFC S. Murphy of the LaPlata barracks for a traffic violation.
Upon contact with the driver, Lawrence Marvin Johnson Jr., 21, of College Park, an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle, police say.
A probable cause search revealed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia and Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
