LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — TheBayNet.com, the largest news source in Southern Maryland and a fixture to the lives of many, would like to announce that they will be under new ownership and management.
Sharon Bell, who co-founded TheBayNet.com in 2004 and has worked over the past 16 years as the publisher of the news outlet, said that she will be moving on from the business after battling cancer over the past few years. She’s since come to terms with how her life has gone up until now and has found peace in not knowing what may come for her tomorrow.
However, recognizing the need to maintain the legacy of her creation, she has decided to turn over her keys to a new group of local owners.
“I would like to thank the community for their loyalty. I am so grateful. Knowing that our team is out there doing the very best job that we can to report our local news to them… and we will at all costs,” Bell said. “TheBayNet.com is going to succeed… it already has.”
The new owners are ecstatic to continue leading the area on breaking news coverage, community-related stories, and news that showcases the full spectrum of the demographics we serve. We appreciate Bell’s dedication over 16 years to the community that she truly loves, and we will continue to carry on her genuine spirit and devotion to supporting local businesses.
In the immediate future, TheBayNet will continue to report news and partner with business owners to ensure their success in this unprecedented time.
