At 9 p.m. March 10, TFC T. Quade stopped a vehicle for failing to drive right of center on Pegg Road at Ronald Drive in Lexington Park.

Upon contact with the driver, Justin Jay Butler, 20, of Great Mills, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A probable cause search was conducted.

Located on the floor was a cigar case containing marijuana. Located in a compartment under the dome light was a cellophane wrapper containing marijuana. Located in the ashtray was a partially burnt marijuana cigarette. Located in a duffle bag was a DVD case containing marijuana.

The passenger was identified as Michael Lawrence Nelson, 23, of Lexington Park. Butler and Nelson were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. They were taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
