On Thursday, September 15, 2011, at approximately 7:15 pm, there was a report of an auto accident at Route 4 and Ponds Wood Road in Huntingtown. The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad (Co. 6) responded to the call and one person was transported because they were feeling dizzy.  Chief 6 (Riffe) was the officer in command of this call. The Huntingtown Squad, Engine and ambulance were on this call, along with State and Sheriff’s Department personnel.

About an hour later, there was another call on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at approximately 8:20 pm. 

There was a report of an auto accident at Route 4 and Town Center Blvd. in Dunkirk. The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad (Co.5) responded to the call along with Huntingtown Squad and ambulance.  There were approximately seven people involved in this accident, so an additional ambulance was requested.  Chief 5 (Sealey) was the officer in command of this call. The Chief cancelled the second squad from Huntingtown and kept all the ambulances.  Ambulances from Dunkirk and Huntingtown transported about six people to the hospital, many were children that were in the one vehicle.  All injuries seem to be minor and most as a safety concern for the children involved.  There was at least one release signed at the scene.
