Theft Less Than $100.00 – On Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 3:00pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton responded to the Family Dollar on Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported theft. Upon arrival, an employee of the establishment advised that the complainant, 58, of Clements followed the two female suspects from the establishment to another local establishment. Tpr. Morton responded to the additional store and made contact with the complainant, whom advised that he observed the two subjects concealing merchandise in their handbags while in the Family Dollar store. The complainant was able to identify both subjects to Tpr. Morton. Contact was made with both subjects, who were escorted out of the store where they were identified as LaQuesha Nicola Countiss, 20, of Waldorf and Kamisha Raquel Thomas, 19, of Lexington Park. Both subjects opened their purses revealing various merchandise from both the Family Dollar and the Food Lion. Ms. Thomas and Ms. Countiss were both placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly. The stolen merchandise was returned to the appropriate establishments.
