The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the following initiatives: Smooth Operator, Click it or Ticket and Checkpoint/Strikeforce throughout the next several months. Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of wearing seatbelts, adhering to the posted speed limits and using a designated driver if you plan on consuming alcohol. These operations will be conducted with the assistance of the Maryland State Police. These operations are made possible through grant funding from the Maryland Highway Safety Office. Sheriff Mike Evans said, “Together we can all make a difference by doing our parts individually to allow adequate time to get to our destinations, wearing seatbelts and having a designated driver when we go out and consume alcoholic beverages!”
