MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – On Sunday, July 26, 2020, at approximately 9:14 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of Golden Beach Road and Jarrell Drive for a single motor vehicle accident reported overturned with electrical wires down and two patients possibly trapped.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a single truck overturned and one utility pole cut in half. Both patients from the overturned vehicle was trapped, however, they were able to self-extricate prior to fire and rescue arriving on the scene and were treated by EMS. Power outages reported in the area. SMECO was requested.
SMECO remained on the scene to replace the utility pole, along with utility lines being attached to the new pole.
