The Tiki Bar in Solomon’s finalized a deal with Green Room Entertainment on July 31st to showcase the area’s best island music. The music program will feature steel drum bands, reggae and Jimmy Buffett tribute bands.
When asked by The Bay Net about this new addition to the Tiki Bar, Manager Joe Kurley stated that the owners and the staff wanted to find a way to provide a little more of the island atmosphere. And what better way than to showcase the area’s best island sounds? Kurley also reiterated that the current owners (who took over the business last summer) intend to respect the traditions of the Tiki Bar instilled by its previous owners and will guard against any rowdy night club atmosphere, striving instead to nurture an enjoyable friendly setting to suit its diverse clientele. So with that in mind, they don’t at this juncture intend to feature any music other than the mellow island sounds, said Kurley.
The intention, with the introduction of the music, is to create a space where someone can go and relax with family, friends, co-workers, and enjoy the island scenery – created and installed this past winter – and sit back and enjoy some great steel drum, reggae and Jimmy Buffett melodies.
So far the inaugural line-up of talent to perform at the Tiki Bar includes CAISO, a well-known steel drum band, Passion, a great reggae group, and they also plan to host an occasional Jimmy Buffett tribute band.
The Tiki Bar will showcase these bands on Saturday evenings from 6 pm until 10 pm. So go to the Tiki Bar and check out these great artists and “get your island groove on mon!”
