On Dec. 11, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Trooper B. Sorenson was stationary at southbound Route 301 at Washington Avenue when he observed the driver of a blue Chevrolet Suburban fail to stop at the stop line for a flashing red light.
Tpr. Sorenson stopped the vehicle; smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The front seat passenger, Tolonzo Stephon Rhodes, 25 of Capitol Heights and the backseat passenger, Tony Keith Grant, 23 of Suitland, were arrested and charged with possession of CDS and paraphernalia.
Rhodes was also charged with false statement to a peace officer. An NCIC check on Rhodes revealed that he was a fugitive through the United States Marshall Service, Washington, DC Superior Court District for FTA.
