On Sunday morning, Nov. 6, a woman awoke to find her boyfriend on top of her, covering her nose and mouth with his hands, stiffling her breathing, according to a statement given to police. The woman said she was able to push her boyfriend off her and leave the apartment. From there she made it to Third Base Convenience Store, where she called police.

At 11:39 am officers responded to the store and took the woman to a safe location. The officers also visited the woman’s apartment in attempt to find the boyfriend, but there was no answer. Leonardtown State Police say investigation is continuing.
