Lexington Park, MD — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office believes a woman was driving under the influence when she hit a parked car in a lot in 21600 block of Great Mills Road on September 10.

Officers say Kathleen Lorraine Byerly, age 51 of Lexington Park truck an empty vehicle and then drove to a different spot in the parking lot.

After speaking with Byerly, deputies determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Byerly was arrested and a pill, suspected to be  Oxycodone, was found in her pocket. Byerly was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol, Driving Vehicle So Far Impaired by Drugs and Alcohol Cannot Drive Safely, and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.
