Betty Jane Haley, 78, of Hollywood, MD died on December 28, 2003 at the St. Mary?s Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on January 17, 1925 in Elcho, WI, she was the daughter of the late Henry Albert and Clara Margaret Culver Siebert.

Ms. Haley moved to St. Mary?s County in 1963, moving from North Carolina. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses, Callaway, MD. She was an avid bird watcher and devoted a lot of her time to feeding the birds. She also enjoyed growing flowers at her home and was an exceptional cook. In her younger days she enjoyed fishing and crabbing.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Fortin and husband Doug, of Hollywood, MD, two sons, Stephen Douglas Haley of California, MD and James Patrick Haley and wife Phyl, of Hollywood, MD, three sisters, Barbara Ann Monfort, Pound, WI, Joyce Lorraine Brown, of Gillett, WI, and Verna Marjorie Schoenick, of Stevens Point, WI, a brother, Gordon Glen Siebert, of Neenah, WI, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Lee Haley, Jr., seven sisters, Gertrude Lucille Schabell, Marcella Violet Wilke, Erma Louise Hoffman, Ruth Lulu Halverson, Elaine June Armond, Dawn Nadine Liesch and Virgene Margaret Delzer, and a brother Earle Raymond Siebert.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses, Callaway, MD. Brother Arthur Hackett will give the memorial talk.
