Margarethe Putz, 92, of LaPlata died Oct. 23, 2002, at her home. She was a self-employed hatmaker. A member of the Herman Sone, German Club, lodge #24 Sana Rosa, California Chapter. She enjoyed skiing, playing the slots, traveling, gardening and was an outstanding cook. Mrs. Putz was a member of the Catholic faith. Born Oct. 29, 1909 in Vienna, Austria. She was the daughter of the late Leopold Wahringer and the late Marthra Pollrk Wahringer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Karl Putz, brother, Fritz Wahringer. She is survived by her son, Hans L. Putz and his wife Patsy of LaPlata; four grandchildren, Robin Hoppmeyer, of Virginia Beach, Va., Serena Albrecht, of LaPlata, Robert Putz, Virginia Beach, Va., Rusty Putz, Melbourne, Fl.; five great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
