Born on September 15, 1919 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late John Grambo and the late Louise Keats Grambo. Mr. Grambo was an Ironworker with the Ironworkers Union and worked for the Potomac Iron Works in Hyattsville, MD before retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, former member of the Knights of Columbus and attended Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Chaptio, MD. He loved fishing, gardening and enjoying time at the beach.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Grambo is preceded in death by two sons, John E. Grambo Jr. and Thomas Mark Grambo; a brother Francis Grambo; two sisters Mary G. Wood and Elizabeth Arceneaux.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary S. Grambo; two daughters, Mary Kathryn Rupard of Cheverly, Md. and Susan G. Julian of Leonardtown, Md.; one son, Joseph W. Grambo of Annapolis, Md.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, March 24, 2003 at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, Md.. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of the Wayside Chaptico, MD at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2003, Reverend John P. Stack officiating. Interment will be at Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery in Chaptico, Md.
Pallbearers are Bruce Julian Sr., Jim Rupard, Ryan Dickerson, Frank Coffren, Geoff Grambo and Bruce Julian Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsville Rescue Squad.
