In light of forecasts and inclement weather this evening, the College
of Southern Maryland has canceled the Cause Theatre Production of “The
Bright Blue Mailbox Suicide Note” that was previously scheduled for 8
p.m., Friday, Oct. 2 at the Leonardtown Campus. The play will not be
rescheduled at the Leonardtown Campus. Performances of “The Bright Blue
Mailbox Suicide Note” are scheduled for the La Plata Campus Oct. 15-17 .

Due to weather conditions, all Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) outdoor activities, including sports games, for Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, are canceled. Indoor activities will take place as scheduled. St. Mary’s County Updated 10:00 a.m. Oct. 2

  • Because of the weather the Uplifting Design show has been postponed until November First Friday, Nov. 6. It will be on the Square if the weather permits, otherwise it will be at the Leonardtown Arts Center. 
  • Blessing of the Fleet scheduled for Oct. 4 and 5 has been cancelled.
  • The annual Punt, Pass & Kick competition schedule for Oct. 3 has been postponed due to the weather.  The competition will be held on Saturday, October 10th at Fifth District Park.
  • Wicomico Shores Golf Course will be closed Friday and Saturday and will be monitored to see if it is playable on Sunday.
  • The Riverview Restaurant will operate on normal business hours throughout the weekend.
  • The Department of Recreation & Parks staff will monitor conditions throughout the weekend and announce operational changes as needed.

 

Calvert County Updated 10:00 a.m. Oct. 2

The 5th Annual Tea in the Garden at Point Farm “Preserving the Patterson Legacy,” has been postponed due to incoming inclement weather.   The tea originally scheduled for Sunday, October 4 has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum. 

The annual tea is sponsored in part by the Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum. Attendees will enjoy high tea, live music and tours of the Patterson House. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children ten years of age and younger. Proceeds benefit the restoration of the Patterson House treasures.

Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum, a state museum of archaeology and home to the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory, is a program of the Maryland Historical Trust, a division of the Maryland Department of Planning. CCPR Field and facility cancelations and closures for Thurs 10/1 through Sunday 10/4:

  • All activities at ALL CCPR parks and satellite fields (including BG&E, Solomons Town Ctr, Twin Shields field and all school fields) have been canceled from today 10/1 through Sunday 10/4.
  • All parks, satellite and school fields will be closed from today 10/1 through Sunday 10/4. However, Hallowing Point Park will remain open on Friday 10/2 for County Fair parking ONLY.
  • Community Centers and the Hall Aquatic Center: All CCPR classes, activities and special events are canceled from Friday 10/2 through Sunday 10/4. However, the facilities are scheduled to remain open as of this time.
  • Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will be closed Friday 10/2 through Sunday 10/4.
  • Breezy Point Beach and Campground is closed today 10/1 through Sunday 10/4.
