On May 23, 2015 at approximately 5:25p.m., Dfc. Fox of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Legion Road and Chesapeake Beach Road for the report of a motorcycle crash involving personal injury.
Upon arrival Dfc. Fox determined the operator of a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was turning west onto E Chesapeake Beach Road, from Legion Rd., when he had to swerve out of the way of a co-rider on another motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the curb on the acceleration lane of E Chesapeake Beach Road. The operator of the motorcycle, Ralph Fenton (69) of Boca Raton, Florida sustained a serious leg injury during the crash.
EMS personnel from the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to the scene and treated Fenton for his injuries.
Fenton was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and was later airlifted to Washington Hospital Center where he underwent surgery for a preexisting medical condition. Fenton later died due to complications from surgery.
