Prince Frederick, MD โ€“ A suspect crashed an allegedly stolen vehicle after fleeing from the police through three counties. There was a substantial amount of blood around the crash scene and blood drenched clothing was also located nearby.

At about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 15 the Calvert Control Center received a 9-1-1 call from a victim stating his 2012 white Dodge Charger had been stolen from Mint Court in Prince Frederick.

The sheriffโ€™s office observed the reported stolen vehicle traveling north bound on Route 4 and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle accelerated and police began to pursue the vehicle. The sheriffโ€™s office units coordinated the deployment of stop sticks in the area of Cherry Hill Road and Route 4.

The driverโ€™s side front tire was deflated by the stop sticks but the vehicle continued north on Route 4. The deflated tire came off the rim of the vehicle in the area of Skinners Turn Road.

The Dodge Charger continued north driving on only the rim at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued into Anne Arundel County and then into Prince Georges County.

The vehicle took the exit for Water Street at the Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro where it crashed into a tree in the wooded area along the access ramp that leads back to Route 4.

The suspect fled the crash on foot. K-9 and a helicopter with FLIR were deployed in an effort to locate the suspect.

After an extensive search the suspect was not located and his whereabouts and identity are not known at this time.

The PG County Police Department responded to assist with the search and assumed the crash investigation. Maryland State Police and Park Police assisted with the search as well.
