Life Legacy
Anne Christine Rawlings, 81, of Cheltenham, MD, passed away on November 11, 2015, at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was born in Fredericksburg, VA on September 12, 1934, to the late James Madison Thomas and the late Clara Ella Davenport Thomas.
Anne worked for the Air Force before working for the US Postal Service, where she retired in 1989. She enjoyed her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her church family, gardening, music, and life in ministry for Jesus. She treasured every moment with her husband of 62 years.
In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her son, Larry Rawlings and grand-daughter, Shelby.
Anne is survived by her loving husband, Robert W. Rawlings, whom she married in 1953 at Cheltenham United Methodist Church; sons, David T. Rawlings (Debra), Wade M. Rawlings (Susie); daughters, Carole Ann Beckley (Brian), Barbara Jean Windsor (Chris); daughter-in-law, Cindy Barrett; brother, Jim Thomas; sister, Nancy Thomas; eleven living grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for Anneโs visitation on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 11:00 am at Cheltenham United Methodist Church, 11111 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623 with Reverend Denise Millett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
