84, of Newburg

Bernice V. Rupprecht, 84, of Newburg died Aug. 13, 2003 at Geroge Washington Hospital, in Washington, D.C. She was an active volunteer in many organizations including VAVS Veterans Affairs Volunteer Services, Meals on wheels and at the command senter athe the Tornado. She was an alumni of St. Mary’s College. Past president of the V>F>W> Auxiliary in Washington D.C. A Washingtonian Historian. She worked at the travel center from 1990-2000 and continued to volunteer there. She was born Feb. 4, 1919 in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary Hickman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Philip Rupprecht, son, Walter Rupprecht, grandchildren, Steve Senior and Cindi Coffman, Fiancee Paul Komdat, son-in-law, James Senior and daughter-in-law, Linda Rupprecht. She is survived by her daughters, Joan Senior, Mary Reddington Martin, son, Phil Rupprecht, Jr., brothers, Victor and J Thomas Hickman Carolyn, sister, Mary H. Jones; daughter-in-law, Shirley Rupprecht; grandchildren, Linda Kaufmann, Sonny Rupprecht, Paul Rupprecht, Sharon Cozzens, Shelly Senior, Debbie Stansell, Diana McCarthy, Marty Reddington, Phillip Rupprecht, III, and April Rupprecht Sr./Airman. She is survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other family members. The family will recieve friends on Monday, Aug. 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, Md. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, LaPlata, Md. Pallbearers will be Marty Reddington, Jr., Walter “Sonny” Rupprecht, Jr., Walter Rupprecht, III, James Dahlstedt, John Cozzens, Mark Kaugmann, Jr., Phillip Rupprecht, II, Thomas “TJ” Shaw, and Paul Rupprecht.
