Cecilia Elizabeth Scriber, 61 of Lexington Park, MD, fondly referred to as โSnooksโ, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2016. Snooks was the sixth child born on July 17, 1954 in Leonardtown, Maryland to Patricia Georgieanna Scriber and the late James Frank Scriber. She received her education in the St. Maryโs County parochial and public school systems and in 1973 graduated from Chopticon High School. Employed at Saint Maryโs Hospital for many years, Snooks greeted all with friendliness, warmth, kindness and a joyous spirit.
Snooksโ love for cooking led to special meals for family and friends. Her greatest times were shared with her grandchildren. Snooks was loyal and dedicated to caring for her parents and famously known for her passionate โexpression of thoughts and feelingsโ.
Preceding Snooks in death was her father, James Frank Scriber; four brothers, William, Robert, James and Jeffrey; one sister, Caroline and the love of her life, James Allen Ennels.
Cherishing Snooksโ memory are her devoted children, Alega Penn (Gregory Jr.) of Baltimore, Maryland, Thomas Scriber of Lexington Park, Maryland, Helen Byrd (Kenneth Sr.) of Great Mills, Maryland, Latoria Scriber of California, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Trevon James, Tyโrae Dove, Gregory Penn III, Alira Penn, Kenneth Jr., Kaiden Byrd, Tevron Scriber, Kyree Byrd; mother, Patricia Scriber; six sisters, Patricia Scriber, Shirley Chase, Evangeline Scriber, Joyce Scriber, Mary Cameron, Marsha Scriber; one brother, Joseph Scriber; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Angela, twenty-five nieces and nephews, thirty-seven great nieces and nephews, three great-great nephews, six aunts, one uncle, two God children and a host of cousins and friends.
Family will unite with friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 for visitation at 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 22375 Three Notch Rd, Lexington Park, MD 20653. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
