Clarence M. Thompson, 84, of Newburg died June 28, 2003 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata. He worked in construction business, and was a Waterman in the winter months. Born September 24, 1918, in Wayside, Md. He was the son of the late Clarence M. Thompson and the late Dolly Thompson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Louise E. Thompson, who died in 1988; son, Larry Edward Thompson and brothers Leonard Thompson and Wilmer Thompson; and sisters, Alice Mellott, Alma Card, Inez Shelton, Ruby Farrell, Ruth Farrell, Ethel Ricardi and Lillian Stellabotte. He is survived by his son, Clarence R. Thompson of Newburg, MD; foster son, Larry White, of Mechanicsville, MD; sister, Dollie Simmons, Eldersburg, MD; and brother, Joseph Thompson, Sr., of Morgantown, MD.; grandchildren, Larry Edward Thompson, Jr., Tammy Lynn Miller; great-grandchildren, Sean Miller, Byron Miller, Ashley Miller. Chase Thompson. Visitation will Tuesday, July 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. Services will be Wednesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, MD. The Rev. Karl Chimiack will officiate. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
