Dan attended Bladensburg High School. From 1969 to 1974, he was a member of the United Associated Apprentice Steamfitters and was later employed as a steamfitter
for John J. Kirlin, Washington, D.C. He loved fishing and travelling and was a devoted #88 NASCAR fan.
Dan was predeceased by his father and brothers, Jonathan Z. Davis and Edward L. Davis. He is survived by his wife, Lona Higgs Davis; mother, Dorothy L. Davis of Annapolis, MD; siblings, Dorothy J. Davis of Florida, Ruth M. Shegogue of Lothian, MD, Mary E. Harding of Iowa, Kathleen M. Warwick of Georgetown, Delaware and Richard D. Davis of Romney, West Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 10:00a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols. Rev. Linda Purdy will officiate. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
