David Bruce Welch of Benedict, Maryland died suddenly on March 7, 2006 at the Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. He was 50 years old.

Born on April 12, 1955 in La Plata, MD to Margaret Frances Therres Welch and Thomas Leroy Welch of Benedict, MD. David worked as an Operator for the Mirant Power Plant at Chalk Point. He was a life member of the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Hughesville, MD. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, as well as fishing, crabbing and being on the water.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his daughter Michelle Welch; son Kyle Welch; fiancรฉe Belinda Hooker and her family Eric and Lisa Johnson, Lorin Smith and Kyle Johnson, Stephanie Mohun and Denise Hintze, Mikah Mohun Hintze; sisters Judy Hutchins and Elaine Tettimer; brother Larry and his wife Mary Lee Welch; nieces Annette and her husband John Huntzberry, Kristen and her husband Jeff Walker, Kerrie and her husband Kurt Heydt; former wife; Sharon Murphy Mattia, four great nieces, one great nephew; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his nephew Kevin Tettimer.

Family to receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2006 from 2 to 8PM with Prayers at 7PM and Fireman?s Prayers at 7:30PM at the St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church 7189 Benedict Road Benedict, MD where Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 10AM with the Reverend Saverio Vitturino officiating. Interment at St. Mary?s Church Cemetery Bryantown, MD. Pallbearers are Glen Therres, Chris Therres, Timmy Brock, Eddie Brock, Irving Chappelear and Robbie Welch. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Welch, officers and members of the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
