David Thomas Craddock, 63, passed away in his sleep Friday evening, July 1, 2016, at his Leonardtown residence.

He leaves behind his two sons, Mitchell Craddock and Nicholas Craddock; his mother, Lucie Craddock; his sister, Christina Craddock; and many close friends.

Born in Clinton Kentucky, Mr. Craddock was the only son of Raymond and Lucie Craddock. At a young age, he relocated with his family to Frederick Maryland where he graduated from Walkersville High School, then later as an adult from Frederick Community College with a degree in liberal arts.

In 1977, with his newly earned college education, Mr. Craddock took a job in graphic design for the government contractor โ€œVedaโ€, located in Lexington Park Maryland. He remained with the company for almost 40 years as it changed hands and shifted to โ€œVeridian Engineeringโ€, then โ€œWyle Laboratoriesโ€. Mr. Craddock was passionate about his work and became the companyโ€™s โ€œgo toโ€ man for any special projects, which quickly earned him the senior position of Production Department Manager where he expertly directed his own team of professionals and directly contributed to the companyโ€™s success. It was also while working for Veda he met his wife of 25 years, Margaret Kalloch, and together they raised their two sons, Mitchell and Nicholas.

Mr. Craddock especially loved being a father and enjoyed staying active with his children. He served as both a mentor and a role model, but most of all, a loving dad. Because his home was situated near the banks of the Potomac River, Mr. Craddock would often take both of his sons fishing and crabbing, which ultimately became his favorite pastime. Even after his children grew up and left home, Mr. Craddock played an active and encouraging role in their lives.

Mr. Craddock was most remembered for his ability to win over peopleโ€™s hearts. He loved making people laugh and, although looked upon as a leader, was known for his relatable demeanor and humorous charm; he truly had the ability to light up anybodyโ€™s day.

David Thomas Craddock was a loyal son, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He will be missed dearly.

A funeral service will be determined at a future date.
