Born December 27, 1912 in Valley Lee, MD, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Francis Redman and Ann Elizabeth Bean Redman. Regina attended and graduated from Little Flower School in Great Mills, MD and was a communicant of St. George Catholic Church for most of her life. Having lived in Valley Lee, MD she was a homemaker and helped her husband Herman with their various businesses. An Avid gardener she raised vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her family was especially important to her and she was very devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Rose Ott and her husband Dr. Robert Ott of Hollywood, MD, five grandchildren, Robert Ott, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Regina Sommer of Sudbury, MA, Mary Price of New York, NY, Cdr. Gregory Ott of Chesapeake, VA and Charles Ott of Severna Park, MD, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Ball of Boise, ID. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Walter Hewitt, Jr., a sister, Sister Alice Elizabeth Redman, and five brothers, Benjamin, Paul, James, Bean and Edward Redman.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD. The Reverend Keith Woods will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Ott, Jr., Gregory Ott, Charles Ott, Kyle Flynn, Eric Flynn and Michael Ott. Honorary pallbearer will be Wallace Berry.
