Born January 4, 1911 in Barbour County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Finley Bennett.
Mrs. McCoy was a strong, gentle woman, kind hearted, of quiet dignity, always retaining the lady like manners taught in her childhood. She was a wonderful cook and baker, loved gardening and crafts, but her first love was people. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter.
She is survived by 2 children; Charlotte M. Ellis and Gary W. McCoy both of Leonardtown, MD, two grandsons, and three great grand children.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Great Mills, MD at 10:00 a.m.
