Eva Carr Desmond, 102, of La Plata died September 6, 2003 at the Charles County Nursing and Rhabilitation Center, La Plata. She worked for the Department of Imirgration and Naturalization for the Federal Govt. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Hope Chapter #30 Washington, DC. Born December 16, 1900 in Aldee, Virginia she was the daughter of the late James Redmond and the late Alice Redmond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Desmond. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Alice Havaran, Marjorie Cabray, Alice Allen, Clara Watkins, Dorothy Schweinhaut, Ann Szpiech, James Schweinhaut, Thomas Schweinhaut, Andrew Redmond, Ernest Redmond, Rodney Cobray, Richard Allen and John Szpiech. Memorial services will be at Cobb Island Baptist Church, Monday, Sept. 15 at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Larry Chambers will officiate. Arrangements were handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
