George Clinton Drapalik, 66, of Waldorf died April 20, 2003 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata. Formerly of Westlake Village, California. He was an Aeronautical Engineer with the Flying Tigers out of Burbank, California. Owning two businesses Photo Solution & Film Salvage and Recovery Management. He enjoyed building and improving his home. Loved animals, nature, and gardening. He planned and built a pond and brook around his home. Also enjoyed “G” Scale Trains. His children said that he knew everything. Born Dec. 30, 1936 in Santa Monica, California he was the son of the late George John Drapalik and the late Mildred Lucertia Drapalik. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy D. Walker. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Jean Drapalik of Waldorf; son, George “Nipper” R. Drapalik and his wife Anel Drapalik of California; daughters, Kimberly A. Catalano and her husband, John Catalano of Waldorf, Bethany A. Murphy and her husband, James Murphy of California, and Heidi L. Autote of California; 12 grandchildren, John M. Catalano, George C.R.D. Murphy, Andrew A.P. Murphy, Virginia E.M. Murphy, George A. Drapalik, Daniel Crane, Christopher Drapalik, Laura Gean Autote, Jennifer Autote, Lucertia Autote, Leonel William Autote, III, Heather Walker and Joshua Walker; great-grandchild, Brandon Walker. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Waldorf. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
