She was a member of the Farm Bureau Women?s Group and of St. Cecelia?s Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Agnes Biggs of Lexington Park, MD, Nancy Lee Wheedelton of Seaford, DE, Margaret Ann Gohr of Virginia Beach, VA, three sons, James Leroy Owens of Lexington Park, MD, Richard Carrol Owens of Fredericksburg, VA, John Francis Owens of Lexington Park, MD, two brothers, William Melvin Pilkerton, Jr., of Leonardtown, MD, James Leroy Pilkerton of Tampa, Florida, fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Owens, four brothers, William Leo, Thomas Samuel, John Frankin and Eugene Pilkerton, two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Quade, Agnes Cecelia Pilkerton and one grandchild, Christina Roche.
The family received friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at St. Cecelia?s Catholic Church, St. Mary?s City, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated after with the Reverend Damian Shadwell as the celebrant. Interment followed in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, Lexington Park, MD.
Pallbearers were Paul S. Biggs, Jr., James Leroy Owens, Jr., Clint Furrow, John Owens and Richard Owens, II. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Eck, Josh Harding, Ryan Marvil, Corey Eck, Brandon Harding, and Daniel Marvil.
