James Harrison โ€œJimโ€ Calvert, 40 of Lexington Park, MD and formerly of Burke, VA, died November 1, 2009 at his residence. Born June 8, 1969, in Fairfax County, VA he was the son of Jerome R. and Virginia C. Calvert of Greenville, SC and formerly of Burke, VA. He is also survived by his sisters, Katherine E. Calvert of Harrogate, England , Virginia D.C. Marchant and her husband Thomas of Greenville, SC and as well as his niece Carolina Davies Marchant, his nephew Thomas Spencer Marchant and his aunt Patti Lieblich of Alexandria, VA as well as numerous cousins. Jim graduated from W. Springfield High School, Springfield, VA in 1987 and from George Mason University where he obtained his degree in electrical engineering in 1991. He was a Department of the Navy landing systems engineer and was devoted to the mission of the Automatic Carrier Landing Systems Group with whom he worked at Patuxent River NAS. Jim was an avid walker and enjoyed reading and travel. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 5:00 โ€“ 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, Leonardtown, MD where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM.
