James Ralph Johnson of Charlotte Hall, Maryland died on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. He was 70 years old.

Born April 18, 1935 in Oraville, Maryland to the late Imelda W. and Leonard B. Johnson. A life long resident of Southern Maryland, Mr. Johnson attended St. Joseph?s Catholic School and Margaret Brent High School both in St. Mary?s County. He later served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as an Aircraft Mechanic until he was Honorably Discharged in 1957 at the rank of Airman Second Class. He was a Barber and worked in various shops in the area including Lexington Park, Marlow Heights and Oxon Hill. He loved playing Solitaire, reading and electronic games.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy E. Johnson; siblings George F. Johnson, Joann Bradley and Paul L. Johnson.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters Leonard H. Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Bernard M. Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, Charles R. Johnson of Bellevue, NE, Mary I. Wilson of Portland, OR, E. Patricia Schiesser of Sycamore, IL, Barbara A. Osterman of Delta, CO, Rose M. Pedrosa of Colorado Springs, CO, David M. Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Genny L. Oto of Mt. Lake, NJ and Joseph B. Johnson of Waldorf, MD.; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 10, 2005 from 9AM to 10:30AM at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church 29119 Point Lookout Road Morganza, Maryland with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30AM with the Reverend Keith Woods officiating. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Maryland with Military Honors. Pallbearers are Charles Johnson, Billy Johnson, Jerry Schiesser, Joe Johnson, Luther Wolfe and David Johnson.
