Janice Lee Gill, 64, of Mechanicsville, MD died at her home with her family Wednesday February 3, 2021.
She was born on November 12th, 1956 in Ashville, NC to the late Thomas and Audrey Pruitt.
On February 8, 1980 Janice married her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Gill in Upper Marlboro, MD where together they shared over 35 years of marriage. Janice and Robert came to Mechanicsville in 1983 with their son Marc. Janice was a dedicated mother and a hard-working woman where she spent years with Chaptico Market and The Halfway House. Even after working a double shift she would come home and cook a homemade meal for Marc and his friends.
Janice loved everything about the beach and enjoyed taking time with her family in the sand. Janice would take the grandchildren, a loaf of bread, deli meat or peanut butter and jelly to be at the pool all day long. There was never enough time in the sun. Janice loved the company of her birds and many knew her for them. She would open the cages and let them fly around the house to sit on her shoulder and keep her company; all of which she would name after liquor brands. Janice spent time with family and friends, always being the life of the party with her wild jokes that would make you laugh until your face hurt.
Janice is survived by her only son Marc Ryan Gill Sr. (Jennifer Gassman), Crystal Gill (Tom Aylor) and her grandchildren: Alyssa Varnell-Gill, Shianne Gill, Marc “Ryan” Gill Jr., Jasmine Herbert, Jaden Herbert and Aleeah Gill. Janice is also survived by her sisters, Teresa Thompson, Diane Hogan and Brenda Kirkpatrick an many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family is welcoming friends on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:00pm- 8:00pm, with a prayer service celebrated by Reverend Joe Orlando at 7:00pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
