Janie Ellen Fenwick Young, daughter of the late Joseph A. Fenwick and Isabel M. Fenwick, born on December 7, 1930 in Park Hall, Maryland, Departed this life on Monday, August 28, 2006 at her residence in St. Inigoes, MD.
Janie was educated at St. Peter Claver and Cardinal Gibbons in St. Inigoes, MD. On September 15, 1956, Janie married her late husband; Chester Young. During her lifetime, Janie had numerous jobs and enjoyed her various duties from picking crabs, cooking, and housekeeping to being a nanny for many families here in St. Mary?s County. Janie?s favorite hobbies and past times included gardening, cooking, canning, BINGO, Playing cards, family outings, traveling, singing and listening to gospel music.
In addition to being a loving daughter, wife and mother, Janie was a devoted Catholic attending mass at both St. Peter and St. Cecelia Catholic Churches. Janie faithfully served as a Ladies of Charity member at St. Peter?s and was a choir member at St. Cecelia?s
Janie?s death leaves a void in the many hearts and lives she touched along her journey. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Joseph ?Bunny? Young and his wife Dolores of St. Inigoes, MD, two grandsons; Joshua Young of Lexington Park, MD and Luis Medina of Spain, two granddaughters; Jasmine Young of St. Inigoes, MD and Celia Morales of Hawaii, one step-daughter, Queenie Champ and her family of Brooklyn, NY along with 25 god-children. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Proceeding Janie in death are her parents, husband and one brother; Joseph ?Jack? Fenwick.
Services for Janie Ellen Fenwick Young will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in St. Inigoes, MD. Viewing will be from 9:00 ? 10:00 a.m. with Services at 10:00 a.m. Services officiated by Rev. D. Shadwell. Interment will follow at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
