Jean was born on February 25, 1930 to Fred Hand and Ina Grisham in Chicago, Illinois. She married Robert Blaney on November 15, 1945 in Joliet, Illinois. She and Robert traveled throughout the southwest and Puerto Rico while Robert was employed by the military. Jean has lived in Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Maryland & Minnesota. She graduated from the College of DuPage in Illinois with an Associates Degree in 1988. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing & quilting, but mostly she loved studying her Bible. She also taught many Ladies’ Bible classes in the various churches that she attended over the last 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Janetta (Peter) Dobson of Bruno, MN, two granddaughters, Stephanie Dobson & Beverly Dobson, both of Bruno, MN, a nephew Scott (Joy) Irwin, 2 nieces Sandra Pistilli & Bridgett Pistilli of Joliet, IL, and many other 2nd nieces & nephews. Memorial services were held at Danforth Community Chapel in Bruno, MN on Saturday 1/24/09. A private graveside service will be held in Leonardtown, MD on Friday, 1/30/09.
