Julia Carr McPherson, 84, of Brandywine passed away on January 29, 2019 at Georgetown University Hospital.ย  Julia was born on December 17, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late Stuart Kinsey Johns Carr, Sr. and the late Aline Marie Herbert Carr.ย  Julia was a Home Economics teacher for Prince Georgeโ€™s County Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1983.ย  She was a past member of the Baden VFD Ladies Auxiliary and the Womenโ€™s Group of St. Paulโ€™s Parish.ย  Julia enjoyed sewing, quilting, antiques, jewelry and spending time with her family and friends.

Julia is survived by her husband of 60 years, John โ€œJackโ€ McPherson, her daughter, Julia Doremus M. Jenkins, her grandson, William Tyler Jenkins (Randi) and her brother, Stuart Kinsey Johns Carr, Jr. โ€œJohnnyโ€ (Barbara).ย  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Philip Higgins Carr and her son-in-law, William Scott Jenkins.

Juliaโ€™s Life Celebration Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 4, 2019 at St. Paulโ€™s Episcopal Church, 13500 Baden-Westwood Rd., Brandywine, MD 20613, with Reverends Christian Lehrer and Bruce McPherson officiating.ย  Interment immediately following at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
