Born on November 1, 1943 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Mildred Consuelo Adams Khinoo, of Modesto, CA and the late Albert Ephram Khinoo.
Mr. Khinoo earned an Associate of Arts, Drafting Technology Degree in 1963 in Modesto, California Junior College, he then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1968 at the California State Polytechnic University, in 1975 he graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, and then went on to earn a Master of Science, Systems Management Degree from the University of Southern California, in 1980. Mr. Khinoo served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years. During his military career he was both fixed wing and helicopter pilot with over 9, 500 hours of flight time. He flew over 120 different aircraft. His military career took him to California, Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Maryland, Hawaii and overseas for two tours to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
In 1978 Mr. Khinoo made his home in St. Mary?s County, moving from San Diego, CA. He worked for Veridian from 1988 until 2004 as an instructor at the Naval Test Pilot School. He was a member of the Society for Experimental Test Pilots and a member of the Church of Ascension, Lexington Park, MD. He served as the Clerk of the Works for 10 years, served on the vestry and was the head usher. Mr. Khinoo was an inventor and collector. He loved working with his hands doing woodworking and car restoration.
He is survived by his wife Connie Lynn Covic Khinoo whom he married on December 27, 1965 in Modesto, CA, two daughters, Mindi O?Connor of Warrenton, VA and Kelli Gutierrez, of Swan Point, MD, four grandchildren, Brandon Gutierrez, Justin Gutierrez, Nicholas O? Connor and Katie O?Connor, a sister, Evelyn Khinoo of Menlo Park, CA and a brother Mark Khinoo of Modesto, CA.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 11:30 am at the Church of the Ascension, Lexington Park, MD. Interment will be private.
