Leroy Ralph Wolfe, Jr., 85, passed peacefully on September 16, 2016, at the Hospice of St. Maryโs, Callaway, MD.
He was born on August 10, 1931, in Washington, DC, the son of Leroy R. Wolfe, Sr., and Elenora Delores Chaconas Wolfe.
At the time of his death, he was retired from the Potomac Electric Power Company, Washington, DC, after 40 years of service as a Lead Electrical Mechanic. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the District of Columbia Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict era. He loved his family in Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, crafter of muzzle loading rifles, and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and the St. Charles Sportsmanโs Club. He was also a member of Post 225, American Legion, Ridge; Sanners Lake Sportsmenโs Club; and the St. Maryโs County Historical Society.
Surviving is his wife, Susan Jennifer Wolfe, Valley Lee, MD, Executive Director,
St. Maryโs County Historical Society; his children, Beatrice A. Wolfe, Tallahassee, FL, Deborah Ann (Billy) Brown, Freeport, FL; Leroy R. Wolfe, III, Defuniak Springs, FL; and Catherine M. Wolfe, Westville, FL. His eight grandchildren include Christopher Ellsworth, Tallahassee, FL; Marcus Cason, Miami, FL; Jonathan Brown, Freeport, FL; Rebecca Brown, Freeport, FL; Zachary (Heather) Wolfe, Fort Walton Beach, FL; Sean Wood, Tallahassee, FL; Forest Hargraves, Honea Path, SC: and Kaitlyn Odom, Oakdale, LA. His four great grandchildren include: Blaze Ellsworth, Tallahassee, FL; Kona Shea, Kahuku, HI; and Malia and Lily Mae Wolfe, Fort Walton Beach, FL. He also has one great-great-granddaughter, Emeri Ray (Erin Ray), Oakdale, LA. He also leaves his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Cynthia Wilson, McLean, VA; niece Stephanie (Nigel) Mendez, Minneapolis, MN; nephew John (Sarah) Wilson, Mt. Bethel, PA; aunt, Jean Wilson, Lansdale, PA; cousin Helen Thanos, Brookeville, MD; and his special caregiver, Latisha Hill, Lexington Park, MD. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dustin Wood, US Marine Corps, who died in June 2016.
Family will receive friends for Leroyโs Life Celebration on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
