Marion Ann (Mern) Foote, 64, of Lexington Park, MD, passed away on September 22, 2020 at the home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 28, 1956 in Leonardtown, MD to the late Lewis Andrew Norris and Evelyn F. Wood Norris.

Marion was a lifelong resident of St. Maryโ€™s County. She was employed as a dependable and accurate Financial Analyst for the federal government at Patuxent River Naval Air Station for over 37 years until her retirement on June 30, 2016. On August 12, 1977 she married her beloved husband, John Wade Foote at St. Ceciliaโ€™s Catholic Church in St. Maryโ€™s City, MD. Together they celebrated over 43 wonderful years of marriage. She and her husband enjoyed taking trips on her Harley along the East Coast, particularly to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Skyline Drive, Seneca Rock, and Smoke Hole. She loved the view from the mountains and sightseeing. She had an appreciation for natureโ€™s art, including watching the finches and hummingbirds at her home. She enjoyed going to craft shows, antique shopping and fishing. She was a delicious cook and โ€œwhatever she cooked was always delicious.โ€ Some of the family favorites were her homemade German chocolate cake, squish squash, potato salad, and chicken salad. As an avid reader, she enjoyed reading romance novels. Family was her greatest love, especially spending time with her son and grandchildren.

She was a long time member of the American Legion Post 255 in Ridge, MD where she served as a Chaplain and with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Michaelโ€™s Catholic Church in Ridge, MD.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is also survived by her son, John Wade โ€œBuckโ€ Foote Jr. (Tracy) of Lexington Park, MD; James Lewis โ€œBootsieโ€ Norris, Sr. (Maggie) of Clinton, MD, Allen Norris (Mary) of Clements, MD, Cathy Foote (Glenn) of Dameron, MD; three grandchildren: Megan Moneymaker, Caitlin E. Foote, and Alex Wade Foote; her great granddaughter, Laina Carroll; Melissa Norris, who was like a daughter to her; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also proceeded in death by her brother, Thomas Eugene Norris.

Family will receive friends for Marionโ€™s Life Celebration on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prayers recited by Father Peter Giovanoni at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
