Martha P. Forrest, a long time resident of St. Mary?s County, died January 3rd in her residence at Asbury-Solomons. She was born in Leechburg, PA to Marie Trout and John Bratton Parks and was descended from a prominent family of early settlers in that area. She was the widow of Lt. ret. Edward F. Forrest. She served in the US Army in Germany and Japan during World War II. She was a retired Civil Service employee from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Survivors include cousins Reverend Richard H. Parks, Jr. of Lakewood, OH, Van Dyke Parks of Los Angeles, CA, and Carson Parks of St. Mary?s, GA. She was a member of the St. Mary?s County Historical Society, the Historical Society of Leechburg, and an auxiliary member of the Retired Officers? Association.
