Mrs. Hammett grew up in Charles County and was a farm girl and later met and married Daniel F. Hammett and then moved to St. Mary?s County where they raised five children. Mrs. Hammett liked gardening and sitting outside listening and watching wildlife and bluegrass.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Lynn and John Smith of Bowie, MD, Mary C. Ketty and Charles Bucky Bellere of Compton, MD, Richard Spencer Hammett and girlfriend Beverly Burnett of Mechanicsville, MD, Charles Francis and Sharon Hammett of Leonardtown, MD, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel F. Hammett and her son Edward Lee Hammett.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be Friday, June 16, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, 21370 Newtowne Neck Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
