Mary Ruth Myers, 92, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on July 5, 2016. She was born on July 11, 1923 in Criglersville, Virginia to James Edgar Yowell and Maggie Lee Breeden Yowell.
Mary worked as a union cashier for the A&P grocery chain which was later bought out by Super Fresh. She retired in 1985 from the Lexington Park, Maryland Super Fresh store. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing the one-armed bandits.
Mary is survived by her children, Betty J. Warring (John) of Mechanicsville, MD; Barbara E. Herbert of Welcome, MD; Kenneth L. Myers (Karen) of Reisterstown, MD; Robert L. Myers of Mechanicsville, MD; and son-in-law Eugene Buckler of Clements, MD. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Jesse Yowell (Sylvia) of Madison, VA, and Charles Yowell of Westminster, MD.
Mary is predeceased by her husband, Virgil L. Myers, and her daughter, Ruby Lee Buckler.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622 with a funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623 on July 13, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Myers, Tommie Myers, Mike Myers, Justin Myers, Dale Downs and Eugene Buckler.
