Melva Hamrick Fuchs, 91, of Hollywood passed away on February 2, 2019 at her home.ย Melva was born on December 7, 1927 in Gregory, West Virginia to the late Alva David Barrickman and the late Dochie Eva Bowyer Barrickman.
Melva enjoyed photography, quilting, needlework and gardening, both vegetables and flowers.ย She was a member of Quilters by the Bay.ย She worked as a Cafeteria Manager for the St. Maryโs County Public School system for many years.ย Just out of high school she was employed by B. F. Goodrich and had several part-time jobs.
Melva is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Craig, and her son, Ken Lawrence Hamrick, her sister, Lounette Clinton and her step-sons, Alan Fuchs and Richard Fuchs.ย Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 7 step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.ย She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Madison Hamrick and John Frederick Fuchs, her son James Madison Hamrick, Jr. and 3 sisters.
Melvaโs Life Celebration Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Paulโs Lutheran Church, 37707 New Market Turner Road, Mechanicsville, MD with Pastor Gary Pomrenke officiating.ย Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to: St. Paulโs Lutheran Building Fund, Luekemia and Lymphoma Society, Shriners Hospital for Children or Hospice.
