Patrick Wayne Donovan, 52, of Port Tobacco, MD passed away suddenly on December 9, 2020.

He was born on June 6, 1968 in Leonardtown, MD to David Wayne Donovan of Richmond, VA (formerly of St. Inigoes) and the late Linda Bailey Donovan of St. Inigoes, MD.

Patrick was a 1987 graduate of Great Mills High School. He was a graduate of The Ocean Corporation, Houston, TX. He was an entrepreneur and built a successful career in the commercial diving and marine construction industry. Patrick invented and held the patents for Exposure Wear vests and body cooling system, as well as a pile jacketing and capping system. He had an affinity for the water, was an avid reader, and quested for as much knowledge as he could obtain to make improvements for the marine construction/energy industries. Patrick was the President of Marine Technologies Inc., co-owner of the Tiki Bar (Solomons Island), and President of Prototype Corporation, Inc. He enjoyed spending his time offshore deep water fishing, crabbing, boating and water skiing. He was a skilled snow skier and enjoyed skiing in Colorado, Utah and Cortina in the Italian Alps.

Patrick is survived by his daughter, Miranda Donovan of Annapolis, MD, and his son, Jack Donovan of Annapolis, MD, and their mother, Michele del Pilar; his daughter, Skylar Donovan of California, MD, and her mother, Jamie Bollen; his siblings, Holly Snyder of Leonardtown, MD, Bill Martin (Kris) of Great Mills, MD, Susan Villard (Bill) of North Wales, PA, and Robin Hayden (Mark) of Monrovia, MD; his father, David, step-mother, Jo, and step-father, John Martin III; his nieces/nephews: Dustin Duke, Kelsey Payne (Daniel), Ethan Snyder and Garrett Payne; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda.

Family will receive friends for Patโ€™s Life Celebration Service on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service celebrated by Pastor Adam Polk at 4:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will be private.
