Born on March 29, 1917 in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Elizabeth C. Shaw and John B. Anderson. Mr. Anderson served in the U. S. Navy from 1936 until his retirement in 1961 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. While in the Navy, Mr. Anderson received the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Unit Citation, the American Defense Medal, the Pacific Area Medal, the American Theatre Medal, the Victory Medal, the Philippine Defense Medal and the Army Unit Citation. After his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Anderson worked for the Prince George?s County Government in the Court House as an Auditor until he retired from there in 1977. He was a Ham Radio Operator and enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, his stepfather John George Warburton preceded Mr. Anderson in death.
He is survived by his wife Patricia R. Anderson; sons Raymond V. Anderson Jr. and Richard T. Anderson; brothers Frederick Thomas Warburton and Joseph Edward Warburton; grandchildren John Anderson, Kathryn Anderson, George Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Richard Anderson Jr. and Lauren Fay.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, September 1, 2005 from 4 to 6PM with Services at 6PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Service and Interment 2PM Friday, September 2, 2005 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Maryland.
