Born on December 15, 1922 at Gaffney, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Robert and Julie Ross Humphries. He has resided in this area for five years. He was a Laborer. Prior he served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1945. He was also a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board.
Survived by his children; Donell Humphries of Landover, MD, Annie L. Brevard of Nanjemoy, MD, Ola Silver of Temple Hill, MD, Mae Brooks of Greenbelt, MD, Betty Humphries of Spring Hill, FL, Julie Barnard of Hyattsville, MD, Bobby Humphries of Washington, DC, and Clinton Humphries of Davidsonville, MD; brothers, Jerome Martin of Columbia, Ohio and Floyd Humphries of Spartenburg, South Carolina; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; former wife, Rosa Lee Humphries also survive him.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, 2005 from 10 a.m. until 11:30AM followed by Funeral Services beginning at 12Noon at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home Chapel, 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
