Ruth Griffin Cook, 92, of Waldorf died Nov. 18, 2003, at Waldorf Health Care Center. She was a bibliographer with the National Geographic Society. Born Dec. 5, 1910, in Streator, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Walter Griffin and the late Elva Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cook, and her sisters, Ann Griffin and Marion Griffin. She is survived by her son, Benson Cook of Cobb Island; daughter, Cynthia Cook Cocke of Towson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Service was held Nov. 24 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. The Rev. Constance Jenson officiated. Burial took place at 11 a.m. Nov. 26 at Christ Church Cemetery, Wayside. Arrangements were handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
