Born on September 23, 1947 in Bryantown, MD, he was the son of the late James A. Butler and Mary Rozena Edele Butler. Mr. Butler worked as a waterman and a pile driver for Colliflower and Peterson Marine Construction having just retired this year. Some of his greatest pleasures were hunting and fishing, playing cards, dancing, and baseball.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Violet L. Young Butler of Leonardtown, MD; six children, Darnell Young of Mechanicsville, MD; Audrey Haskins of Woodbridge, VA; Sylvia Butler of Leonardtown, MD; Peter Butler of Leonardtown, MD; Gary Butler of California, MD; and Francis Neale of Mechanicsville, MD. He is also survived by his siblings Francis Butler of Ft. Washington, MD; John C. Butler of Bryantown, MD; Joseph P. Butler of LaPlata, MD; Charles A. Graham of Bryantown, MD; Charles W. Lattisaw of Bryantown, MD; Norman Graham of Bryantown, MD; Marie Butler of Waldorf, MD; Ruby Dotson of Waldorf, MD and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church 22800 Washington St. Leonardtown, MD from 9:00 a.m. ? 11:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD.
Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Dent, Kelly Holt, Larry Harrod, Rodney Maddox, Tyrone Bannister, and Martin Herbert.
