Mr. Saul attended Pennsylvania Maritime Academy and held a Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering. On January 31, 1976 he married his wife Patricia Thomas Walton Saul in Piney Point, Maryland. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1947. He attended Patuxent Presbyterian Church and was a member of St. Mary?s Riding Club, the Quiet Birdmen, American Waterways Operators and De La Brooke Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas Walton Saul of Compton, MD, two daughters, Susan Mathews of Beaufort, SC, Johanna A. Saul of Compton, MD, one son, John T. Saul of Prince Frederick, MD, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Patuxent Presbyterian Church, 23421 Kingston Creek Road, California, MD 20619. Reverend Mike Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Appomattox, VA.
Pallbearers will be John Saul, Adam Saul, Ron Surfield, John Martin, Bill Scott, Jeff Martin, Jackie Russell and Frank Steuart. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Lindsey, Dr. Mansie Boyd, and Ralph Repass.
