Lexington Park, MDย – On June 11, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Seyfried responded to Ronald Drive in Lexington Park for the report of a domestic assault.ย
When Seyfried arrived on the scene, contact was made with the victim who advised, “she has been assaulted by her live-inย boyfriend,” the deputy stated in charging documents.
The defendant was identifiedย as Harris L. Proctor, 41, of Lexington Park. The victim alleged she arrived home after being out with friends and Proctor was waiting outside for her.ย
The victim stated Proctor confronted her in the parking lot of the residence, at which time a verbal altercationย ensued. The victim alleged she went to walk past Proctor and into the residence, at which time Proctor pushed the victim down on the asphalt.ย
Seyfried observed a fresh abrasion on the victim’s right forearm consistent with falling to the ground.
Proctor was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with second-degree assault.ย
At this time, Proctor does not have a scheduledย court date. Proctor faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
