WASHINGTON – Rep. Steny Hoyer (MD-05) has been hospitalized and diagnosed with pneumococcal pneumonia, according to spokeswoman, Katie Grant. The 79-year-old House Minority Whip was admitted to George Washington University Hospital, Tuesday, July 3, after a long weekend of travel in Illinois and Wisconsin.
He is being treated with antibiotics and is expected to make a quick recovery, says Grant.
